Drawing Just For Fun

With a large pad of newsprint paper on my easel and a china maker, I start at the top and draw shapes, scrolls, leaves, anything that comes to mind as I draw. I usually don’t know what it will be or look like until I get to the bottom. Sometimes I take a photo of the drawing and using Photoshop I add some colour to it. I usually throw the drawings away; since they are cheap newsprint paper they will start to yellow with time. Sometimes I do quick sketches while watching a DVD, putting it on pause and drawing quickly before the time runs out. Then when I see something I like, I put it on pause again and draw. I keep on doing this until I have a full page.
